love the podcast! thanks so much for doing another so soon! yea! about numbers of knitting projects - i like to have 2, MAYBE 3 going at once. since i only have one of each size needle, the projects need to be on different needles, but i like to bounce between a couple. then i get excited about both.

I am playing catch up on your podcast. Please, oh please , let your son give up his thumb in his own time. Your husband being a manly man is having difficulty with his son being needy to something. Common for lots of manly men. The more secure your son feels growing up, cuddling , being supported and understanding him in his own home ; the stronger more confident man he will grow up to become.

If you tell him to deny his needs it sets up him feeling bad for needing something to comfort him and may get him into hiding his needs or not acknowledging them. Leading to future therapy !!

If your husband makes a big deal out of this thumb sucking , your son might dig his heels in more about it, do it in public or do it in secret and feel ashamed.

If he sucks his thumb at school his peers will tease him . I'm sure he will give up his thumb when he no longer needs it.

Does he have a new stuffed toy to sleep with or pillow to hug . Something he picks out ? or music or story to listen to on his own at bed time?

Offering him other stuff , without being obvious about the thumb , might will give him other options for finding comfort and quiet at bed time.
